About Our Venue

Theatre Royal Sydney is a heritage listed building originally designed in the 1970s.

All foyers within the Venue have level access and provide access to the merchandise stand, the box office, cloakroom, and bars.

There are designated accessible bathrooms on Level 5 and 7, whilst our level access and wheelchair user seating is located in the Circle on Level 7. We recommend this seating to all patrons who may struggle with stairs or use mobility aids.

Access to all seats in the Stalls require patrons to walk up or down a minimum of seven stairs.

You can see our seating map by clicking here. Please note this map is a guide only and seating configuration may change at any time prior to your event.

Should you have any questions or concerns about access please don’t hesitate to contact our Box Office who recommend the best seats to suit your needs.

You can drop-off on Castlereagh Street at approximately 51 Castlereagh Street if needing to put an address into your map provider.

Alternatively, we would recommend utilising the 25 Martin Place Car Park and then using the lifts to access Level 6 or 7 to attend the Venue.

If you are coming by car, the best place to park is at the Wilson Parking 25 Martin Place Car Park. There are three parking spaces available on Level 1 of this carpark, for cars displaying disability permits. Please note, these are not exclusively reserved for theatre patrons and cannot be reserved.

We offer a discounted parking rate for patrons in our pre-show emails.

See Parking for more details.

The main entrance to the Venue is via 108 King Street. This is an accessible level entry to our Main Foyer and provides easy access to the stairs and lifts that operate on all levels.

You may also access the theatre foyers from the retail areas in 25 Martin Place. This is especially handy if you are coming from level access vehicle drop off on Castlereagh St or from the 25 Martin Place car park.

The Box Office and Main Foyer can be accessed through Level 6 of the 25 Martin Place Precinct.

Our friendly front of house staff will also be in the foyer areas and will be happy to help you if you need additional assistance. Our staff are easily identifiable in Theatre Royal uniforms – navy blue pants and a white shirt.

Should you wish to discuss access to our Venue, please contact our Box Office.

Theatre Royal Sydney offers accessible seating in Row N of the Circle. Our main amenities are located on Level 3 of our venue. Should you wish to use these facilities, staff can provide lift access to this area upon request.

Guide, hearing and service assistance animals are permitted inside the Venue as defined under the Companion Animals Act 1998 (NSW). To ensure appropriate seating is allocated please contact us when booking.

A hearing induction loop is available within the Auditorium and provides coverage to all seats in the Venue.

To connect to the hearing loop with an analogue hearing aid, please switch your hearing aid to the telecoil ‘T-Mode,’ or ‘T’ as indicated on the aid. To connect to the hearing loop with a digital hearing aid, please ensure your system has a ‘T’ switch position or ‘T’ program accessible by a program button or remote control.
